Adobe release certification exams for CS3 products

Feb 1, 04:39 AM , , Shangara Singh

After an unprecedented delay, Adobe have at last released certification and recertification exams for their CS3 products. You can now certify or recertify for:

  • Dreamweaver CS3
  • Flash CS3
  • Illustrator CS3
  • InDesign CS3
  • Photoshop CS3

If you are certifying for the first time, you can book a test through Prometric or Pearson VUE.

If you are certified in any of the above products, you can recertify through Prometric. You have 90 days to renew your certification once the exam has been superseded and the old exam retired.

While you can recertify online, you will need to certify via a testing centre, of which there are many scattered all over the globe. When you book through Prometric or Pearson VUE. You will be presented with a long list of testing centres and should be able to find one close to you.

We have exam aids to help prepare for the Photoshop CS3 and the InDesign CS3 certification. We are currently working on upgrading our Illustrator CS2 ACE Exam Aid and hope to release the CS3 version within the next couple of weeks. You can find more info and exam aids on our Examaids.com website.

I want to know if the Photoshop CS3 certification exam is for the standard version or the expanded version?

I am 5.5 certified and still use it because I refuse to give up all the plug-ins including KPT3, Knoll’s Lens Flare and the original Eye Candy-and it is lightning fast compared with the new feature ladden versions.
My question is: is there ever going to be another Adobe study guide like there was for version 5.0?

    Cheers,

    Tom,

Adobe don’t say whether the exam is for Photoshop CS3 standard or expanded, just Photoshop CS3. However, the Prep Guide includes objectives from the extended version. I would deduce from that you need to know the expanded version. If you don’t have it, you can always download the trial version and learn the features not included in the standard version.

When talking of an “Adobe study guide,” I assume you are referring to the Photoshop 5 Exam Cram by Mike Cuenca? You have to ask the publisher or the author for a definitive reply. My guess is there weren’t enough sales to justify an upgrade every 18 months. You are unlikely to find a better study aid than our Photoshop CS3 ACE Exam Aid (and I say that without prejudice!).
